Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, the Nation's oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military children, is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2018-2019 academic year.  The application will be open until March 1.

Our scholarships are for children of Marines and eligible Navy Corpsmen pursuing a post-secondary education at any accredited school—whether that be a career training, trade school, community college, or four-year university. We’re not competitive! We award scholarships to every eligible applicant. For over 55 years, we’ve provided more than 37,000 scholarships, valued at over $100,000,000.

Raised on Honor, Courage, and Commitment, we’ve seen Marine Scholars perform ahead of their peers year after year. They graduate at nearly double the rate of other students, and half of our Marine Scholars are first-generation college students! Furthermore, 60% are studying STEM, health sciences and business.

Our scholarship application will be open through March 1. Please join us in spreading the word to let Marine families know they can now apply for scholarships for the 2018-2019 academic year. You can learn more about scholarship eligibility and the application process by clicking here!

Dear Oregon MCL Members,

By way of introduction, my name is Larry Alcantara and I have been assigned to coordinate with the Oregon MCL on connecting Marines and their families with the scholarship opportunities contained herein. I am a member of the MCSF Washington State Outreach Committee, and Past Commandant, Puget Sound MCL Detachment 336.

First, I humbly request that this message be shared with Oregon MCL detachment members. Simply forward this email message to your respective detachment members.

Secondly, we are actively seeking a few volunteers from your detachments to call Oregon High Schools, secure the name and email of those school counselors who help seniors with scholarship opportunities. Oregon has about 67 high schools with a population of over 1,000 students. If you can send me the contact information, at pinoy003@msn.com, of three volunteers, I will send them the school list. Each of the three volunteers will have about 22 schools to call and this should take only a few hours.

Educating our children is the key to a successful future and we hope you will join us in getting the word out. Connecting our Marines and their families to this important benefit is an important mission we all share.

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation (MCSF) is the Nation’s oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military children. With your help, we’re hoping to get the word out about our scholarship program to as many military families as possible!
